Have you ever heard the expression ‘overnight success’? What does it mean? To the best of my understanding, it is an expression people use to describe what in their estimation is success that happened really fast. However, if you or anyone else you know has ever been successful you will agree with me that the term overnight success is almost a disrespect for the hard work that goes into making anything successful.
In the Acts of Apostles, we see the blowup of what became the ministry of the Christians; those who were with Jesus and continued His work after He was crucified. Everyone was amazed their how widely their message spread, but then when you take a closer look, you will realise that they were not an overnight success. They had spend three and half years of their lives pretty much following Jesus everywhere He went and another 40 days after His death and resurrection just sitting and waiting in the upper room for the Holy Spirit to come. How can all this work be termed as overnight success?
To succeed at anything, there is a long wait always attached, there is planning, strategies and a lot of tenacious display of commitment and focus. If someone had taken a look at your hard work and called it overnight success, please forgive them. If you have been working and your success is yet to manifest, please hold on. These things take time sometimes. What you cannot do is give up, keep the faith and your day will come!
