Ask anyone today what success means, and you’ll get a myriad of answers.
Some might say it’s about fame, others wealth, or perhaps power. You’ll even find those who equate it with unconventional aspirations like marrying seven wives and having 49 children. As we’ve discussed before, success is as diverse as the lives we lead.
However, let’s shift our focus away from the glitter of fame, the allure of power, and the chase for riches.
- If success were solely about money, why would wealthy individuals ever experience unhappiness?
- If it were about power, why do we witness popular actors grappling with despair?
- And if success were power, why do influential figures falter due to character flaws?
We can’t box success into the trifecta of money, fame, and power. It’s not the be-all and end-all.
Success is about answering a higher call. It’s about becoming the person you were meant to be, as envisioned by a higher purpose.
When it comes to success, the harshest critics should be ourselves. Let’s measure our success by how well we align with the purpose that’s been set before us.
