You will agree with me that all over the world, the search is on for extra ordinary.  This search has unleashed a pressure on men and women everywhere to become the best of the pack. In a bid to become the best of the lot, we have all gotten on a rat race, headed no where exactly and mostly going in circles.  The scary or maybe sad part of this race to extra ordinary is that we leave behind the most important quality required in becoming extra ordinary, and that is to first be ordinary.

The question is, what is wrong with ordinary?  Why does it have to be complicated to count?  Why does it have to shine and take so much out of one to be impactful?  What is wrong with ordinary walk in a park, ordinary hug from your child, ordinary thank you from a friend.  In my opinion, the flash and the dash do not make the essence of any great thing.  I have learnt that a lot of greatness is overlooked just because it is enveloped in ordinary.  Yet we all run away from ordinary. No one wants to be described as ordinary, yet the King of the universe came ordinary.  He was wrapped in swaddling cloths, at a lowly inn, born in a manger, first ministered to by humble shepherds.  Yet this ordinary baby was also the Saviour of the world.

The wisdom in today’s show is that it is time we stepped back to look again and see what obvious power and greatness we miss simply because ordinary no longer appeals to us. Whether we know and acknowledge it or not, ordinary is not as ordinary after all.  Ordinary is the first step to extra… if you can see that and embrace it, the pressure will lessen and you may just arrive where you are headed a tad faster.

You might be ordinary but there is great power within you. Acknowledge it, process it and deploy it!
