Have you ever heard the expression; “We didn’t come to this earth to gain our worth, we brought it with us”. I find this interesting and true. It means that our jobs, work, acquisitions, social status or possessions do not define our worth. The things we do, the people we know and the places we’re privileged to visit don’t make us worthy, we are loaded with worth. It is important that we know that within us are gifts of immeasurable value.

I realise that we get entangled with all sorts of vices and evil when we try to use things to define our worth. Just think about it… why do people steal things that don’t belong to them? Why do people get hooked on drugs and alcohol? Why do some people get into senseless competition with others, wasting resources and time just to prove something to them? Why do people stay in abusive and damaging relationships? It’s simply because they do not realize that within them is great worth.

The society we live in loves to measure and compare people based on their acquisitions and status. The ones who seem to have more of those are crowned kings and queens of the world. But this practice is flawed. There is more to life than achievements and possession. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not against working hard to achieve goals and getting acquisitions. I am against being oblivious to one’s innate value. I am against blindness to the fact that we are all loaded with worth.

Today, as you go about your duties and work, I want you to take some time to look deep within your heart and see the great value that you have within. Knowing this will lead you to release that value to the entire world.
