Last week we looked at cultivating the right posture to listen for what Heaven has to say to us.  This week we continue the series by looking at a proactive hearing of what God says to us.

Hearing is the capacity to perceive with the HEART what God says to us.  We find that the critical aspects of hearing are our heart and God’s character.  We look at the art of obedience as well as confirming what Heaven is saying.  A word from God will Instruct, Teach, Correct, Rebuke or simply inform.  It is also vital to look out for the peace element in hearing.  Just like listening, it is important not to be overtaken by the need to be correct when it comes to learning the art of hearing God.  Rather be open and don’t be afraid to make mistakes once in a while.

It is equally important to clear the clutter of preconceived notions when learning to hear God.  It is easier to come with a clear heart and be open to what we will hear.  When what you hear doesn’t make sense, just trust the character of God, and you will be fine.
