Taking responsibility for one’s actions is a very essential trait if we desire to succeed and find fulfillment. We must be willing to tell ourselves the truth and take responsibility for our actions and inaction, rather than make excuses or play the blame game… which is usually the easiest thing to do. I find that settling for the path of least resistance never brought anyone to their success goal. To do the right thing only when we feel like it, will only leave us unhealthy and unfulfilled.
The truth is the life that you have is yours to live to the best of your ability. Yes, you may have mentors or people who are committed to seeing you succeed in all your endeavors but they do not replace the need for you to take responsibility for your life. We’ve come to the last week in the first quarter of the year 2018, the year you decided to be proactive towards reaching your goals, to start working on that dream, to finish those projects left untouched… how far have you gone with those? Have you started? Are you still on the path? Or have you given up because events didn’t line up in the way you’d like?
Today, I want you to take a critical look at your life, have a review meeting with yourself. Take a look at the vision you started the year with and then compare it with where you are right now. Then, ask yourself these questions;
Did I make any moves and are they the right ones?
Does my vision need tweaking?
Have I gotten distracted and veered off the path?
Do I need to buckle up and push myself harder?
Do I need help?
Do what you can to find your location in the journey that is your life and take the responsibility to rightly position yourself if you are out of position. At the end of the day, you will find that everything you need to succeed is within your reach. Don’t stop yourself, take the responsibility and do the creative best with your life.
